25-year-old Tatiana Ariste was caught stealing from a Walgreens on Perkins Road on April 24th. When officers arrived on the scene, they spoke with Taylor McClain, who stated that merchandise was taken from the business. Mcclain then stated the suspects responsible were attempting to flee in a black GMC, but the vehicle had broken down. Mcclain then gave officers a description of both individuals, one being Ariste, who was wearing a white hoodie and green shorts and had a dog with her. The other was an unidentified man wearing a FedEx vest. Officers proceeded to go outside and search for the suspects and noticed Ariste behind a food establishment that was also on Perkins Road. Unable to locate the male, officers detained Ariste, and she was taken back to Walgreens. Officers frisked Ariste and found merchandise that had been stolen. McClain was able to total up the amount stolen, which was valued at $728.13. The dog was taken by animal control, and Ariste was taken into custody and charged with theft.
Tatiana Yamilet Ariste of Polk Ln in Olive Branch, MS, was booked into the Shelby County Jail on April 24th, charged with theft of property. She was released on her own recognizance.
