Aliyah Patterson steals $1,696 worth of packages from Amazon warehouse in U-Haul truck

29-year-old Aliyah Patterson was caught stealing at the Amazon distribution center on Holmes Road on December 24th, 2023. An employee at the mentioned location, Zack Carr, informed officers that he saw two females pull up with a U-Haul truck. The truck backed into the loading dock, and then the two women lifted the door, took several boxes, and put them into the truck. Carr reported that the two women left with children’s pain reliever, Tena’s men’s shorts, and Utopia bed sheets, which all had an estimated value of $1,696. On January 6th, officers spoke with a U-Haul customer service representative. They told officers that the truck belonged to a store on Lamar Avenue. On May 14th, officers arrived at Lamar Avenue and spoke with an employee. The employee told officers that Patterson rented the truck on December 12th, 2023, and returned it on January 11th, 2024.

On May 20th, Patterson made contact with law enforcement to give a statement about the incident. Patterson admitted that she rented the U-Haul truck and that she and her girlfriend, Jayla Victor, stole items from Amazon on Holmes Road. Patterson informed officers that the stolen merchandise was at the Rest Inn on S. Third Street. Aliyah Patterson was taken into custody and charged with theft.
