Jamaria Jefferson threatens to shoot ex-boyfriend’s family during altercation, says she would “make them move”

JAMARIA JEFFERSON FEAT

30-year-old Jamaria Jefferson was seen pointing a firearm at a Debby Drive residence on April 16th. Officers arrived at the residence and spoke with Myesha Lee and her mother, Shirley Bobo. They stated that Jefferson had driven to their house and demanded her cell phone. Lee told officers that neither she nor Bobo had the cell phone. Lee also claims that Jefferson was at the end of the driveway sitting in her car, threatening to shoot everyone in the house, saying she would “make them move.” Lee claimed that Jefferson proceeded to raise a black pistol in her direction as she was making threats. Bobo informed officers that she did not see a pistol, but she did hear the threats to shoot the house. Lee told officers this was the result of her brother assaulting Jefferson, who was his ex-girlfriend, and taking her cell phone. Lee’s brother was not at the residence during the incident. Bobo and Lee gave statements to officers and identified Jefferson as the one who made the threats. A warrant was issued, and Jefferson was taken into custody for aggravated assault on May 9th.

Ricanisha Wright steals $51 worth of merchandise from Family Dollar

22-year-old Ricanisha Wright was seen stealing from a Family Dollar on East E.H. Crump Boulevard on May 9th. When the officers arrived at the scene, they spoke with Bruce McAfee. He informed them that three females were actively shoplifting in the store and provided descriptions of all three. Officers made contact with the first woman, who was described as heavyset and was seen carrying a large black purse on her shoulder. After giving officers numerous fake names, the woman was identified as Ricanisha Wright. She also had multiple items in her purse with the sensors still attached from the store. Bruce McAfee informed officers that Wright had been in the store several other times, shoplifting, and other reports had been submitted. Another suspect, Teriona Williams, was identified, and another fled the scene upon officers’ arrival. Officers returned unpaid merchandise from Wright’s purse, totaling $51.47. Wright was taken into custody and charged with criminal impersonation and theft.

Anika-Seani Brady steals 7 Nissan Altima rentals from Avis at Memphis International Airport

ANIKA-SEANI BRADY FEAT

24-year-old Anika Brady was caught stealing several cars from Memphis National Airport between February 12th and March 20th. Avis reported an unknown female stealing seven 2024 Nissan Altima’s rentals on different days.  On February 14th,19th, and 29th, Brady was seen stealing three different 2024 Altima’s. Avis caught her on camera, and the vehicles were registered stolen.

One vehicle is valued at $23,015, and the other two are valued at $22,641. On March 3rd,4th,12th, and 20th, Brady was seen stealing four more Nissan Altima rentals. Avis caught her on camera, and officers registered the vehicles as stolen. The vehicles were valued at $24,207, $23,015, $22,641, and the last at $23,015.  

Officers received a tip in South Haven, Mississippi, about selling a Nissan Altima in which the seller agreed to meet Brady, who had arrived in one of the stolen vehicles. South Haven PD contacted Brady and identified her as the female observed stealing the vehicles on camera. Brady stole all the vehicles, which totaled $161,175, and was taken into custody for seven counts of property theft with motor vehicles on May 9th.

Mellviya Edwards swings knife at boyfriend during argument

MELLVIYA EDWARDS FEAT

22-year-old Mellviya Edwards was involved in a domestic altercation with her boyfriend, Damarion McGee, at an Arnold Road residence on May 9th. When the officers arrived, they spoke with McGee, who stated that while he was sleeping, Edwards came home and started arguing about an ongoing incident between them. McGee then claimed Edwards approached him aggressively before swinging at him with a closed fist. McGee informed officers that he “tussled back” but ran into the bathroom. McGee also stated that as he was closing the bathroom door, Edwards grabbed a knife and swung it inside the open space. McGee said that he then closed the door and called officers. Officers then spoke with Edwards, who was lying down, and she stated that they were arguing then had a fight. Officers deemed Edwards to be the primary aggressor, and she was taken into custody for domestic assault. 

Angelica Mcwright assaults neighbor after being confronted about a parking spot

ANGELICA MCWRIGHT FEAT

27-year-old Angelica Mcwright was caught after assaulting someone near Imogene Street on March 18th. When officers arrived on the scene, they spoke with Chasity Parker, who stated that when she arrived home that day, she observed a resident of the Imogene Street apartment residence parked in the no-parking zone. Parker then claims she walked to the apartment to request the owner to move their vehicle. Parker told officers that when she began walking back to the parking lot, Mcwright followed her and began arguing. Parker claimed that during the argument, she turned her back in, which Mcwright had pushed her before beginning to swing at her while she was on the ground.

Officers photographed Parker’s injuries, which were minor lacerations and bruising under both her eyes. On March 20th, the landlord, Greg McGowan, reviewed the video of Parker and Mcwright fighting in the parking lot. It showed Parker turning around and being pushed by Mcwright. McGowan provided resident information for Mcwright to officers. On March 24th, Parker gave a video statement of the events that had occurred and identified Mcwright as the one who was responsible for the assault. A warrant was issued, and Mcwright was taken into custody on May 8th.

Shontae Settles vandalizes cousin’s car and steals purse containing over $500

SHONTAE SETTLES FEAT

On May 4th, 32-year-old Shontae Settles was seen vandalizing a vehicle and stealing a purse at an Elmo Street residence. On May 5th, officers responded to a theft and vandalism call at the residence, and when they arrived, they spoke with Jereka Seymour and Kala Jones. Seymour claimed that she had gotten into a verbal altercation with her stepsister and niece, Ayanna Grant, and her cousin, Shontae Settles. Seymour claimed that after the situation had gotten heated, she and Jones attempted to leave the area, but Grant opened the door and grabbed the door handle, ripping it off and damaging the interior door panel.

Seymour also stated that Grant took her purse, which contained $533, while the door was open. She feared Grant doing more damage, so she started driving away before being followed by Grant and Settles inside an unknown vehicle. Seymour also communicated to officers that she observed Grant and Settles throwing glass bottles at Jones’s vehicle. She advised that the glass bottles struck the vehicle’s front windshield, causing it to shatter.

On May 6th, Jones and Seymour came into the station, made statements to officers, and positively identified Settles and Grant. Seymour’s purse and contents were estimated to be $733, and the damage to Jones’s vehicle was estimated to be $800. Settles was taken into custody on May 8th and charged with vandalism.

Lois Green lights boyfreind’s house on fire after accusing him of cheating

LOIS GREEN FEAT

34-year-old Lois Green was caught lighting her home on fire after threatening her boyfriend with a knife at his Ridgeway Street residence on October 9th, 2023. when officers and firefighters arrived on the scene, they spoke with Larry White, who stated that his girlfriend, Lois Green, had been drinking for the past two days, cursing and accusing him of infidelity. White also stated that Green had gone into the kitchen and got a knife, so fearing for his life, White had locked himself in their master bedroom. White claims that about 20 minutes later, he noticed smoke coming from underneath the door and ran out, noticing Green standing in the hallway. White then noticed two fires, one on the linoleum floor and another on their rug. White then ran out the front door, leaving Green inside the home while he went to the gas station to call 911. White told investigators that Green had previously threatened to burn his house down when she was upset. Green was not on the scene when officers arrived. On May 8th, 2024, Green was taken into custody for Aggravated arson.

Desiree Brookins hits ex-boyfriend in eye with bottle during argument

DESIREE BROOKINS FEAT

23-year-old Desiree Brookins was involved in a domestic incident with her ex-boyfriend, Isaac Mosley, on May 8th. When officers arrived at the scene of the crime, they spoke with Brookins. Brookins stated that Mosley had choked and hit her multiple times during an argument that had been going on since the previous night. Officers then spoke with Mosley, who stated that Brookins had hit him numerous times, including in his left eye, with a bottle, resulting in a black eye. A primary aggressor could not be determined, and Brookins was taken into custody for domestic assault on May 8th.

Asia Williams jailed after failing to appear in court for theft

ASIA WILLIAMS FEAT

24-year-old Asia Williams failed to appear in court on August 11th, 2023, for a theft charge. A bench warrant was put out for Williams arrest. Williams was arrested on May 8th, 2024, and charged with theft.

Caprea Causey jailed after driving stolen Nissan Maxima on suspended license

CAPREA CAUSEY FEAT

42-year-old Caprea Causey was caught after stealing a Nissan Maxima from Comfort Inn and Suites near Macon Cv. On March 24th, Heriberto Sanchez informed officers that his Nissan Maxima had been stolen from the hotel. On May 8th, Memphis officers observed the Nissan Maxima being driven with tags that did not show the vehicle being a Nissan. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and identified the driver as Caprea Causey. Officers then spoke with Causey, who stated the vehicle had been loaned to her by a friend/cousin. Causey also had a suspended license at the time of the traffic stop, dating back to April 13th, 2013. The vehicle’s VIN was reported as stolen, and Causey was taken into custody. Causey denied knowing the vehicle was stolen while being investigated. The Nissan Maxima was valued at $6862.00 by KBB. Causey was then charged with theft of a motor vehicle, violation of vehicle law, and driving on a suspended license.
