Markayla Herron caught driving stolen 2022 Kia Soul with no driver’s license

21-year-old Markayla Herron was taken into custody for theft and not having a valid driver’s license on May 22nd, 2024. Officers observed a 2022 Kia Soul near Watkins Street and Signal Street that was reported stolen on January 29th, 2023, out of Nashville, Tennessee. Officers conducted a traffic stop, where they spoke with Herron, who stated the Kia was a gift from her boyfriend, Charles Townsend. After officers detained Herron, she provided officers with paperwork showing the car was purchased from a Memphis Auction. Deputies investigated and later discovered that the documents she provided were not authentic. Herron later pleaded ignorance and said she did not know how Townsend obtained the vehicle. Herron was taken into custody and charged with theft of property and driving without a license.

Erica Fulton assaults her nieces during family brawl at grandma’s house

ERICA FULTON FEAT

40-year-old Erica Fulton was involved in an altercation with her niece, Gloria Carr, at her mother’s house on Manassas Street on May 22nd. Carr told officers that while Erica was visiting her mother, Carr’s grandmother, Veronica Fulton, Erica’s sister, started removing Erica’s items from her mother’s room and putting them into her car. Carr stated that this caused Erica to become upset. Carr then began arguing with Erica, which resulted in Erica hitting her with the bedroom door, starting a fight. During the fight, both Erica and Gloria struck each other. Mireyah Fulton, Erica’s other niece, advised that she tried to break up the fight, but Erica struck her as well. Officers observed all parties had various injuries. Officers spoke with Erica, who reeked of alcohol as she stated that both of her nieces jumped her. Officers determined Erica Fulton was the primary aggressor. Erica Fulton was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault.

Trinika Woodard assaults multiple officers after being found walking with no shoes or pants on

TRINIKA WOODARD FEAT

35-year-old Trinika Woodard was involved in an altercation with law enforcement on May 22nd. Officers J. Wetzel and E. Brown observed Woodard walking down Riverdale Road without shoes or pants. When they went to check on Woodard’s well-being, she pulled away from them. Officers then attempted to detain Woodard, but she grabbed Officer Brown and scratched the right side of her face. Officer Wetzel grabbed Woodard to get her off Brown, but Woodard struck him in the head. Trinika Woodard was then taken into custody and charged with two counts of assault to a first responder and resisting arrest.

Quintessa Wise jailed for involvement in theft of $610 worth of merchandise from Gordon’s Food Service

QUINTESSA WISE FEAT

41-year-old Quintessa Wise was taken into custody for theft on May 22nd, 2024. On March 7th, 2023, deputies were called to Gordon’s Food Service, where they spoke with Mary Reaster, Loss Prevention Regional Manager at the establishment. Reaster filed a report stating that between December 11th, 2022, and February 19th, 2023, an employee, Wise, while working at the business, grabbed several items and walked past the checkout without paying. Reaster added that Wise was aided by other employees working the register and returned the favor whenever she was the cashier. Gordon’s Food Service lost $610.06 because of the incidents. On May 1st, 2023, the store manager, Matt Makowski, identified Wise in a six-person lineup. A warrant was issued for her arrest on May 14th, 2023. Wise was later detained for the occurrence on May 22nd, 2024.

Jenny Holliman caught driving stolen Chrysler 200 in 2022

JENNY HOLLIMAN FEAT

35-year-old Jenny Holliman was caught driving in a stolen white Chrysler 200 on March 23rd, 2022. Officers stopped Holliman at the intersection of Cloister and Clearbrook. When officers made contact with Holliman, she was in the passenger seat with the keys in the ignition and the engine running. Officers transported Holliman to the Memphis Police Department, where she agreed to speak with investigators. Holliman was then transported to booking, where she was charged with theft of property on May 22nd, 2024.

Amber Bennett uses golf club to destroy woman’s Toyota Scion during altercation

AMBER BENNETT FEAT

34-year-old Amber Bennett was involved in an altercation with Jacqueline Wilkes at Bennett Avenue on May 22nd. Wilkes contacted law enforcement, stating that Bennett assaulted her and damaged her property. When officers arrived, Wilkes told them that Bennett had knocked on her door and asked her husband, Dominque (Wilkes’s son), to come outside. According to Wilkes, when Dominque didn’t come outside, Bennett ripped the Ring doorbell off the door and then used a golf club she brought to damage the windshield and hood of Wilkes’s Toyota Scion. Once Wilkes went outside to confront Bennett, Bennett ripped the gown off of Wilkes, hit her in the back of the head, and then ripped a plug out of Bennett’s hair. Dominque ran outside and separated both of them. Wilkes and Dominque left in their respective cars. When Bennett noticed Dominque had left, Wilkes said Bennett returned and threw a large rock through her food truck, damaging a hotbox food prep unit on the front porch. Amber Bennett was taken into custody and charged with assault and vandalism.

Amy Edge found sleeping in stolen Chevy Malibu at Marathon gas station

AMY EDGE FEAT

42-year-old Amy Edge and Jesse Cogbill were found sleeping in a stolen gold 2014 Chevy Malibu behind the Elvis Presley Boulevard Marathon gas station around 8:16 a.m. on April 22nd. Upon arrival, officers noticed this and contacted the owner, Charlie Caswell, who stated that his Malibu had been stolen from his driving school on Clifton Avenue. When officers met with Caswell, they viewed a video that showed them stealing his car, wearing the same clothing they were found in. Caswell advised them that the Malibu was worth $8,268.00 and that she did not allow them to use it. Edge admitted to stealing the Malibu and was jailed for theft. Then, after being released, she was taken back into custody on May 22nd.

Jashanti Manning assaults boyfriend with shotgun during argument

JASHANTI MANNING FEAT

20-year-old Jashanti Manning was involved in a domestic altercation with her boyfriend, Dorian Bonds, at his South Frence Creek Cove residence on May 21st. When deputies arrived at the mentioned location, they spoke with Manning. Manning stated that she went to Bonds’ house to hang out. While speaking to Bonds, Manning said that she brought up an incident that happened in the past, which made Bonds angry, causing him to hit her in the face multiple times. According to Manning, Bonds did this while she was holding their two-month-old child. After this, Manning went to the kitchen and grabbed two knives to protect herself. Manning, however, told deputies that she didn’t point anything at anybody. Manning went on to say that Bonds and Walter Howard both had guns in their hands. Manning stated Howard pointed the gun at her, telling her, “Don’t come near me.” After seeing this, Manning put the knives down and started looking for her phone and keys so she could leave.

Deputies later spoke with Bonds, who stated that Manning was drunk and wanted to argue about an old incident between them. Bonds told Manning that he was going to leave and that she needed to be gone when he came back because he didn’t want to argue with her. Bonds returned, and Manning was still there. He told deputies that when he came back, he was looking for money but couldn’t find it. When he asked Manning if she had seen it, she said that she had seen it in the car outside. According to Bonds, as he was walking out of the house, Manning picked up a shotgun and threatened to hit him with it. As Bonds turned around towards her, Manning hit him in the head with the bottom of the gun, causing a knot on his head.

Deputies then spoke with Howard, who stated that Manning hit him with a backpack and threw a water bottle at him. Howard admitted to pointing the gun at Manning and said that he only did so because she had two knives in her hand. Howard went on to tell law enforcement that Manning told him that she was going to have her brother come to Bonds’ house and shoot him. Through further investigation, deputies could not determine the primary aggressor, so both parties were taken into custody. Jashanti Manning was transported to booking and charged with domestic assault and aggravated assault on May 22nd.

Elita Bean shoots & stabs husband, killing him during argument

ELITA BEAN FEAT

44-year-old Elita Bean was caught after she shot her husband, Terrance Bean, at their Ardmore residence On May 21st. When officers arrived on the scene, they spoke with their juvenile children outside, who stated that their mother, Eliita, had shot their father, Terrence. Officers then entered the residence, where they found Elita in the kitchen and found Terrence lying face down on the kitchen floor, suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers spoke with Elita, who told officers that she was fighting with Terrence over the gun, and it went off. Terence was pronounced dead on the scene, and Elita was taken to the Regional Medical Center near Jefferson Avenue. Investigators made a scene and spoke with one of their children, who stated that Elita And Terrence were arguing over keys, and it escalated when Elita retrieved a knife and attempted to stab Terrence. Elita and Terrence then went to their bedroom, where they continued arguing before they went to the kitchen. According to the child, their argument had escalated more, and Elita was on the ground, and Terrence did not have pants on. The juvenile informed officers that this was when Elita asked the child to retrieve her gun, but Terence got the weapon for Elita, telling her to shoot him. Proceeding this, Elita shot Terrence three times. Investigators examined Terrence’s body, showing three gunshots as well as two stab wounds across his chest. Officers found the knife in the trash can as well as well as a handgun in their bedroom. Elita was charged with second-degree murder.
