Leah Garner threatens man with gun after causing car accident

35-year-old Leah Garner was involved in a car accident on Russwood Road on May 14th. The other driver involved, Pedro Caceres-Rosales, spoke with responding deputies. Caceres-Rosales advised officers that a black Chevrolet Camaro had passed him on the left side, pulled in front of him, and slammed on their brakes. Caceres-Rosales stated that this caused him to rear-end the Camaro. Then, he said a female, later identified as Garner, exited the driver’s seat, approached his van with a black handgun, and pointed it at him while demanding he give her his insurance information or money to pay for the accident. Caceres-Rosales stated she left the scene after he gave her his insurance information. Then, he provided officers with her description and the Camaro’s license plate, which they ran and discovered was registered to Cheryl Garner. After investigating, they found Leah Garner to be a possible suspect. On May 16th, Caceres-Rosales identified Garner from a six-person lineup as the driver and told them he wanted to press charges for the occurrence. A warrant was issued for her arrest on May 17th. Garner was taken into custody for aggravated assault and leaving the scene of an accident on May 20th.
